Singer Songwriter

I’ve written music for over twenty years. For much of that time I have performed as a singer songwriter. In 2003 I recorded my first songs in Malibu, CA with producer David Peters. These recordings became known and distributed as The PCH Sessions. The PCH Sessions eventually joined a few more songs to become the album Summer Dreams Away.

Over the years, I’ve performed at venues across the Northwest and beyond. My first two albums The Well and Summer Dreams Away are available on iTunes, Amazon, CDBaby, Spotify and a number of other outlets. My latest two albums Brackish Waters and The Christmas EP are available for free/tip on Noisetrade.

In 2007 I was selected as finalist in CMT’s Music City Madness. The following year, my song “A False Means was selected for use on the benefit album, “Rock Rwanda”. in 2011 my song “Fame Light was used on the benefit album, When The Morning Comes (Music For Libya).

In addition to my own music, I am developing and curate an effort called Manzanita Records, where I curate a passion for music, writing, photography and motion picture. Despite the name, Manzanita Records is more of a documentary effort, than a record label. It features musical recordings, documentaries and more.

“…very relaxing…ageless music.”

“Shane Simonsen produces a nice CD with surrounding orchestral instruments. The guitar work is simple, rhythmic but flawless”

“This is great songwriting, with interesting stories, cries for help, and Biblical references.”

“Shane Simonsen dishes out his kick back, coffee house style of music that first captures then hypnotizes you until the last chord is strum.”
